Fresno Fig Fest
Fresno Petanque Club was present in full force at the annual celebration of figs, and healthy food in general.
Of the 1000 attendees, FPC grabbed 350 (yes, 350) for a petanque primer. How's that for community outreach?
Of course, that was only possible with the help of over 20 volunteer trainers.
Here they are:
If you've missed it, here's FPC's latest newsletter . As usual full of interesting tidbits.

Carreau on a cake
Nancy at National Capital Club in Washington DC made sure players wouldn't run out of energy at their August 1 tournament.
And partner Joël won the mêlée together with Gigi from Richmond VA.
We expect a solid delegation from both clubs at the Open in Amelia.
Can't wait to meet them all.
Nancy, bring cake!

BoulOmetre
Who'd have thought someone would come up with an Ipod app for pétanque!
You take a picture of the boules layout, and then center a circle with adjustable radius on the target ball. The first boule to touch the circle is closest. Very simple.
Available for $0.99 here: BoulOmetre Petanque
Of course it only works with Ipod software.
It reminds me of "Le Juge" a magnifying glass contraption with circles we sold 9 years ago. It worked quite well, but the supplier went out of business.
Thanks to Ken of Petanque Marinière for "pointing" it out!
