Brooklyn Bastille Day

For the 7th time, Smith Street will be converted into a boulodrome again, this year on Sunday July 13.
240 players (80 teams of 3) will compete all day, while thousands watch, eat, drink, listen to music and have fun.

The 80 team slots are already taken, but do come by for a day of fun!

And like every year, there will be a warm up tournament by Brooklyn Petanque at Pit Stop on Columbia Street the day before.

For some training, go tonight (Wednesday July 9) to McCarren Park in Brooklyn and hang out with the Brooklyn Boule players. Lit play area!

At PitStop and at BarTabac we will have team T-shirts available in 10 different colors. Looks good, and it makes it so much easier for the public to recognize players of the same team. So if you don't have your own original uniform, check out the Petanque America table and we'll set you up.

And - like last year - Provence en Boite will organize a soft petanque tournament at the corner of Degraw and Smith, starting at 12 noon.

A nice story in the Brooklyn Paper, July 10

And on Metromix NY

This weekend Brooklyn will once again be the petanque capital of the USA!

Hey what about BROOKLYN BOULE? We'll be there on the 13th and warming up Wednesday Night and Sunday afternoons beforehand and you don't have to pay-to-play......

Thanks for the update Philippe... I wish a fond "Bon Chance" to all the Pétanque players in Brooklyn tomorrow....see you there.
